To record information using Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) about containers moved, crane performance, gears and equipments used, condition, type of containers and other relevant details to avoid possibilities of revenue leakage, and ensure that actual operational details concur with accompanying paperwork and documentation, while adhering to port policies and procedures. Principal Key Responsibility : The job holder will be required to use MDT to record information and prepare and maintain tally sheet record on a daily basis . He/she will also be expected to i nvestigate accidents in accordance with defined safety procedures. He/she will also be required to implement and compile with Environment , Health ,Safety and Security policies and procedures. 1. Receive the sequence sheet in advance for the scheduled bay as per the crane program, Incase of a dynamic change in the stowage plan, receive updated sequence sheet from vessel planner via the runner 2. Record in the Mobile Data Terminal (MDT), the identification data of each container being discharged from the vessel and the identification number of the switcher on which it is placed 3. Manually update in the sequence sheet, the order in which the containers are loaded and discharged from the vessel , if containers are not discharged in the same sequence as mentioned in the bay plan, ensure that the details of the container being discharged match with the available information for that container in the sequence sheet 4. When the container being discharged is of a different type as compared to what is mentioned in the sequence sheet, then ensure the following: If the container is in the sequence sheet, then update the container type through MDT, and if it is non-standard then inform the Hatch Foreman 5. Check the sequence sheet for minor typing error in the series number of the container, and communicate to Hatch Foreman and discharge the container 6. Enter the container number in the MDT to find out if it has been assigned location in the yard. If location has been assigned, then load it on the switcher, else inform Hatch Foreman who will convey it to the vessel planner 7. Ensure that all the containers are sealed during vessel discharge/loading- Record details of all non-sealed containers and inform the Hatch Foreman 8. Update the tally sheet with the necessary details during discharge of Out of Gauge containers 9. Align trucks under crane and During discharge if the Vehicle Mounted Terminal (VMT) in the switcher is not operational or does not display the location, then manually inform the switcher operator his yard location 10. Check condition of all containers during vessel discharge and record damages in the MDT, using the correct damage codes, and inform Vessel Foreman, Prepare detailed Damage Report incase major container damage are observed, and hand it over to the Hatch Foreman for approval and stamping by the duty officer 11. Detect containers coming out of turn and observe the following steps: Update them in the sequence sheet, For empty containers, inform Hatch Foreman who will ensure that the container is loaded in the bay based on POD and line, For full containers, verify with the Hatch Foreman whether to ground the container in the under-crane, and load the other containers as per the correct sequence 12. If there are multiple such out of turn containers, then inform the Vessel Foreman who will see if rambling is possible, and accordingly inform the crane operator to load the container at a new location in the bay 13. Submit updated sequence sheet to the Runner at the end of shift or upon vessel completion 14. Records details about type of gears used to manage special, unconventional containers. Also record details about restows, movement of special type of containers to avoid possibilities of revenue leakage 15. Record the performance of the crane in the crane log when the hatch being serviced is changed (bay closes).
