What are my responsibilities?

• Plan, execute and track software development activities within relevant projects / project modules adhering to timeline, quality and features.
• Derive software requirements and software functional specification e.g. by prototype generation.
• Estimate the size and effort for the work product(s) based on the defined software requirements (functional and non-functional) and software functional specification using the prescribed organizational process and provide input to Project Manager.
• Plan, design, implement and document assigned component(s) / work product(s) based on project schedule. Assign work, guide and review work output (code/test code, documents) to (Associate) Engineer - Development.
• Ensure quality of the developed component(s) / work product(s) and its technical delivery.
• Perform regular technical coordination / review with client to ensure risk identification and to support the initiation of risk mitigation by Project Manager and all relevant project stakeholders.
• Guide project team members on all technical aspects.
• Participate in experience exchange with other experts. Support development related best practice sharing across projects.

• Engineering Graduate / Post Graduate (preferably a major in Computer Science/ Electronics).
• Cross functional experience (Quality /Development/Configuration) is desirable.
• ISTQB Advanced or similar certifications are desirable.
• Approx. 5-7 years of professional experience in SW development, explicitly in testing software applications / products within software projects, using test methodologies and tools.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a process oriented software organization.
• Significant contribution to client- or R&D-projects for the whole project lifecycle (from acquisition, definition to successful delivery).
• Exposure to the relevant Siemens portfolio would be beneficial.
• Experience in contributing towards global projects.
• Expertise in planning and executing tests at different levels for software modules and whole systems independently.
• Expertise in the prescribed software development process quality model, including any external regulatory compliance requirements.

• Advanced skills in Standard Languages (Scripting languages, C++, Java, etc)
• Advanced skills in Platforms (UNIX, Windows etc)
• Concepts of defect tracking tool.
• Basic working knowledge of broad range of test management tools
• Basic working knowledge of broad range of version control tools
• Expert knowledge of broad range of automation tools ( Like QTP, Silktest, winrunner. etc)
• Know-how to perform requirement management for a component independently                          
• Working knowledge in estimation techniques such as FP, Cocomo, etc.
• Testing knowledge (Manual, Automation, Functional, Non Functional, Performance, Load and stress). (expert)
• All methodologies related to different phases of the Software Test Life Cycle (expert)
